How does DE-COMP know how much compression was used without the dry track?
Human plosives, vowel onsets, and phrase releases follow natural physical relationships between vocal effort and tone. DE-COMP measures where a compressor flattened or scooped those relationships, locks onto the matching circuit topology, and lets you fine-trim every control by ear.
What happens if I run DE-COMP on an uncompressed vocal?
DE-COMP classifies uncompressed vocals cleanly as 1.0:1 (0.0 dB gain reduction) and passes the audio untouched without inventing artificial expansion.
